BRIAN BARTON tutors in history with the Open University, and has authored or edited eleven books on Irish history and politics. Great book for those interested in looking at various perspectives on the 'Twilight Saga' novels and films

As a writer and an educator, this is a good read overall. If you're looking to read varying perspectives on the 'Twilight Saga,' then this is the book for you; not to mention it makes for a good resource and definitely will spark some academic discussion of the novels and films among others who have fallen in love with this saga.

Sixteen academic essays by various authors, (one is an ex-Mormon) divided into three sections dedicated to the literary analysis, feminism and ecocriticism of both Twilight books and movies. I loved this book so much I wanted to suck its blood as I devoured it in just three days and could hardly put it down. Some of my favorite essays highlighted these interesting facts: Twilight has a closer connection to Jane Eyre, not Wuthering Heights. Bella is an anti-Feminist, an aspiring lawyer and an ethnographer in her observation of two different cultures and finally; Meyer's treatment of both Indians and the secondary female characters in her series is damaging how our society continues to view minorities. There's also plenty of Buffy and Anita Blake comparisons to satisfy all fans of vampire lore.
Brutally honest in its close readings of Meyer's bestselling series, you'll never read Twilight the same way again!

DOMINIQUE RAMBURE, A former banker (Citibank, Credit Lyonnais among others) lectures at Paris I University on payment systems and finance in China. He is Honorary Chairman of the Euro Banking Association, the first clearing system in the European currency. As consultant to the World Bank and the European Commission, he has been involved in the transition of financial systems in Eastern Europe and Russia.
 
ALEC NACAMULI is Global Payments Executive at IBM. He was previously a member of the Executive Committee at SWIFT which he joined at its inception, where he led its geographical expansion and opening to the securities industry and value-added services. He is the editor of the Journal of Payments Strategy and Systems.

excellent overview for the interested professional

This is the best overview I have found, of the payments systems in the world - how they work, and the way the different exchanges work. It is not for those who know nothing about finance and banking, but certainly good for those (like me) who know finance but not much about how payment systems work. The authors have wisely chosen to stay away from describing the technology products that run the world's financial systems, since they change too fast anyway, but have stayed focused on the important systems that will not change. if you want to know how credit cards work, how banks transfer funds abroad etc., this is a great introduction.
